Determination of K2O and Na2O in Raw Materials for Ceramic Industry with Ion一selective Electrode

YU Dianying

Abstract: The determination of K2O in raw materials for ceramic industry has been made by direct measurement with volinomycin potassium electrode as indicator electrode and calomel electrode as ref ere nee electrode. The multiple standard addition method was also used in the determination of K2O for checking the results. It has been found that using MgCl2 and NaAc -HAc as ionic strength and PH buffer, the test solution is (at PH4) clear and the potential is stable. To eliminate the interference from K+ the tests of conditions for determining Na2O have been made, which shows that analytical values of Na2O are always between Na2O content of the test solution and Na2O content of the fix positionsolution, in the presence of the same quantity of K2O in the fixpositionsolution as the quantity in the test solution, Based on this fact, the analytical procedure of determining Na2O has been worked out. As TISAB, the hydrochloric acid and triethanolamine were added to the solu tion, and the "multiple positioning and measuring" was then performed, and the satisfactory results of determining Na2O were obtained.
